Taking in the Scenery – {Living Arrows}

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.” (Kahlil Gibran)

An important part of our weekends is time outdoors walking or riding bikes. Aside from the fact that it exhausts our toddler (#win), it’s great for us all.

Yesterday, we headed to one of our local parks to let our son burn off some energy on his balance bike.

I snapped this photo of our son as he stopped at the lakeside on his bike and just looked at the scenery around him. He was still for a whole 60 seconds or so. Miraculous for him when he’s on his bike. About 5 seconds after this, he told me it was “pretty,” and rode off again.

I hope he continues to appreciate the beautiful scenery around us for many years to come.
