A Post Chicken Pox Weekend

We’ve had a fantastic Bank Holiday weekend. We managed to squeeze in a couple of National Trust sites and our favourite farm. On Saturday, it was Dunham Massey, Sunday the farm and today a trip to Tatton Park. Our reviews of Dunham Massey and Tatton Park will follow.

The weather has been lovely. But even if it has been absolutely pouring with rain, we’d have been going out. Last week, our tot had chicken pox. He wasn’t overly ill and we used cream to stem the itching. So it wasn’t too bad from that point of view. The worst thing was keeping him away from other children. It meant no nursery and not going to parks and playgrounds and things.

We did manage to get out up to a reservoir and just stuck to the quieter paths, but it meant he was in the house a whole lot longer last week than he generally is. So he definitely needed a busy weekend to work off all that excess energy now he’s all scabbed over and not contagious.

So the boys are both in bed and I’m enjoying a sit down in front of the telly.

Last Bank Holiday weekend before Christmas – done! (Yes, I’m already counting down)!
