We bought our son an electric ride on car last Christmas. We wanted one that would be suitable for a toddler but that would last – so we wanted a parental controls remote that could be disabled later on and enable our son to use the pedal to “drive,” himself.
In the end we opted for this one and he was utterly over the moon with it:
A year later and he’s still in parental control mode (thankfully) but I think it’s a matter of weeks before he wants control of the pedals. But that’s what attracted us to it – the combination of both.
The manufacturer’s recommendations for this were that it’s suitable for those aged 3 and over. Oliver was 22 months (just under 2) when he got it. And I think he would have been absolutely fine in it from about 18 months. But of course, you make those calls for your own children.

Kids R8 Spyder Style Roadster Sports Car
This R8 Spyder style electric car is suitable for younger riders too as it comes with the option of a parental remote control mode! Always useful if you’re unleashing a toddler on it!
You can also let the kids play their own music through the system.
Do note though that the manufacturer recommends the car is suitable for children aged between 36 months and 6 years.

Mercedes Benz SLS Electric Ride On
Here’s an electric car for kids at less than £100! I’m assuming it must be licensed by Mercedes as they’re using the badge and name and it’s another ride on that has both a parental remote control mode and a solo riding mode for slightly older kids.
A super looking option.
12v Raptor Electric Ride On
Very “Jeep inspired,” the Raptor ride on is a 2 seater option – better for families with two children who are sharing (although you might have to referee battles over who’s driving!). It has a seatbelt, start up sound effects, the ability to plug an MP3 player in and is suitable for children aged 3 and over.

Rocket Range Rover Inspired Ride On
You can see the rocket electric car for kids is clearly inspired by the Range Rover. This is available in a couple of other colours too.
At the time of writing, it is also reduced from almost £400 to just £199.95, which is quite a saving.
This does also have a parental remote control option too if you choose to use it. The manufacturer recommended this electric ride on is suitable for toddlers from 3 and up.

Audi Q7 Electric Ride on Car for Kids
This licensed Audi Q7 is brand new for 2017 and is super realistic. It’s a one seater electric ride on car for kids. Although the Amazon listing shows no recommended age range, it does just state a maximum weight of 30kg.
It comes with a parental remote control too, so for toddlers or younger children who are perhaps not quite yet ready to take full control themselves, this is a cracking option.
