Antibacterial Slime: It’s GENIUS!

My eldest two boys are getting a bit sick of me whining at them to sanitise their hands. Enter antibacterial slime….

My eldest two are 6 and 4 now. We’ve always been keen to encourage good hygiene with them and regular handwashing, but I’ll be the first to admit to be a tad on the obsessive side for the last year.

“Wash your hands. Have you washed your hands? Here, let me put this sanitiser on!”

If I’m being honest, I’m kind of getting sick of the sound of my own voice asking them to wash their hands. And neither of them can stand hand sanitiser. So I was pretty impressed to find someone has FINALLY launched something to overcome the problem.

Canal Toys’ Antibacterial Slime… yes. It really is antibacterial slime that kills 99.9% of all bacteria and germs.

So forget the hand sanitiser!

What did my kids think?

In the words of our eldest, Oliver:

“This is so cool!”

I didn’t actually set out to tell him it was antibacterial but he could read it for himself. Serves me right. He asked whether that meant he could stop using hand sanitiser. And for 2 reasons I told him now.

  1. This only retain antibacterial properties for a month. So my kids will probably play with it for a few months yet but we can’t expect it will still be killing germs after the first one
  2. I don’t want them to get out of the habit of sanitising

But if you are having problems getting little ones to sanitise this is a genuinely absolutely genius solution to the issue, without a doubt. And even if you’re just a tad grossed out (like me!) by kids playing with manky slime and play doh type toys, this is ideal.

It feels like “normal” slime, looks like “normal” slime and the kids enjoyed it just the same as they do with their other slime product.

A word of warning. Our 4 year old licked it. Because that’s the sort of 4 year old he is. And he was quick to tell me it tastes like the hand sanitiser I make him use 😂😂

“Well then, why don’t you just stop licking it?”

This is probably why the manufacturer recommends it for use by children aged 6 and over.

All in all

I absolutely love this. At £9.99 for a 4 pack I think it’s decent value.

I just wish this had been a thing at the start of the covid pandemic!
